Posting hot off the press

Well, it was a fun filled weekend. First on Saturday, my g/f's daughter was in her end of the year dance recital. Wow! Does she ever have some awesome dancing moves! She was fantastic! I took Kaitlyn with me and she enjoyed the entire show as well. It went by really quick. I then went to pay for Ryan's summer camp. I signed him up for half days for the week of the 16th at the Chilliwack gymnastics club. This is basic stuff with trampoline. I really hope he'll participate and have fun! It's only from 9am-12pm. I couldn't do the full day if he doesn't like it. That would be torture!

Sunday, I was invited to a Pampered Chef party at Melissa's. I picked up Suzanne and we (including the boys as Dave was taking Kaitlyn to the ferry) headed over for 3:30pm. We didn't end up leaving until 7pm. Melissa put on quite the spread. Thank you Melissa. The demo made jerk chicken salad and strawberry tart. Then Melissa put out shrimp rings, 7 layer dip, spinach dip, hot wings and honey garlic wings. I was in my element! She made hot dogs for the boys and even made Ryan an Ice Cream Sundae. I would never do that at home. He was still talking about it when he got home. It looked yummy. The demo was awesome! So there is a connection for you when you get back Aysha. Her name is Kam and she's been doing it for a couple of years part time now. They have some really cool stuff since the last show I went to. I bought some cool things and I will post you a picture of my goodies with explanations when the loot comes. (A good excuse to post something since my life is pretty routine.)

Hope you have a great week! Ryan's last day is Wednesday when he has his little grad ceremony. I will probably post then. Thursday I have a workshop to do and probably friday is when we head to Dave's brother's place. I'm so looking forward to getting away rain or shine!

g'nite.

Busy Crafting

Hope everyone is well! It's been a little busy for me around here. Never mind looking after the boys...whew! I have been crafting my little heart out! Lots of projects on the go. I was working on Thank you cards for Sue's niece to go with the 12 announcements and 12 blessing/advice cards as a shower present. Her shower was today. Of course I had to make her a card too! I had a few birthdays to make cards for. My sisters whose birthdays are on the 6th and YOU Aysha. I really hope that you got it! I also just realized that I have 2 kid birthday cards to make this week! Yikes, I better get on that...lol. I am also working on grad caps for Ryan's kindergarten class. I currently have 2 made of the 22 needed...lol. They are easy to make. Last week I was preparing for our monthly scrap club meeting. I think it went rather well. I think everyone was happy with their pages! I am now working on projects for this Open House that I'm doing at this ladies house who sells Usborne books. She is holding the Open House with different home based business'. There will me me, her and Tupperware, Avon, Discovery Toys and Epicure. I want to do a simple make and take and I need to come with a door prize, and a snack. lol. I also want to organize my samples so people have something to look at. On top of that , I need to also get started on Sue and Mike's patient cards for their July birthdays....hahaha.

Tomorrow I am taking Lia to get her foot x-rayed. She had surgery a few weeks ago and has a follow up with the specialist on Tuesday. She's been ill with a terrible cough so hasn't felt up to getting it done. It has to be done tomorrow for sure. I will drop Ryan off and head to Abbotsford. I also have to get a couple of birthday presents as Ryan has been invited to Jackson's party and of course Master Jordan. I'm not sure when I'll get to see him and Kelli but I'm sure we'll make a point of it. If not, I'll mail it. lol. Kids like getting mail!

If you haven't noticed, I have attached a music player to this blog. I wish I could play it all the time. I just need to add lots more songs. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Of course when you're adding music, you draw a complete blank. Of course Bryan, but then not everyone wants to listen to only Bryan, except me. lol. I think I'm getting old because I like a lot of the current music but I couldn't tell you who sings it. When we were teenagers, Kelli and I would sing to every song on the radio. Remember when Clint asked us if we knew every word to every song? Our reply was, what she doesn't know, I know and what I don't know, she knows. Music was our life. Now, I try to keep the house quiet. I like quiet, especially during nap time! I know Kelli is up to date with music, so if you're reading this, make me some suggestions chickie! Kelli has music going all the time. I love it! I don't have a good stereo so there's no point. I still have a record player for peats sake! I do have an ipod, but hardly ever listen to it. Mainly because I need to be able to hear the kids.

Well, I think I've typed long enough for you to actually listen to one song. What do you think?

G'night
Tara

Yarrow Days and Kaitlyn's 16th Birthday.

Well, of course I forgot our camera when we went to Yarrow days. It of course was stinking hot! The parade was great as always and the park was filled with live music, the smell of bbq and the sound of festival! We left there, had McDonald's for lunch as I was still getting stuff ready for the party and didn't want to have to cook lunch too! We had the McAuley's over, Dave's brother John, Dave's mom Lia and Kaitlyn's cousins, Brandy and Kirsten. It's amazing how they've changed over the years. Of course, it's hard to believe that Dave and I have been together for 10 years! Some days it seems like more, lol, but really, where has the time gone? I have included some pictures from the birthday, and sorry I haven't been around to update.

What Brady are you? This is too funny

You Are Jan Brady

Brainy and a little introverted, you tend to think life is a lot worse than it actually is.
And while you may think you're a little goofy looking, most people consider you to be a major babe.

Lots of Popcorn.....Yum!

Well, it's been an 'entertaining' couple of days. Friday was a pro-d day so I took Krista (well she followed) to Langley to Toy Traders. Got the boys a few goodies there. They haven't stopped playing with them yet! I figured since I was in Langely that I would take the boys to see Shrek the Third at the Collossus. How great. We ate 2 buckets of popcorn between the three of us. I swear Shane was cleaning up! Great movie, not as good as 1 and 2 but entertaining. Of course the theater is awesome, spacious and comfortable! I talked to Dave's mom today and told her we went and her response was that she had hoped I hadn't as she heard on the noon news that the movie wasn't appropriate for kids and that it was scary...LOL. It caught me a bit off guard. I said that it must have been her opinion and that she was wrong (the critic not Lia) The movie was rated G, it was animated and the boys loved it. Lia was worried that the movie would give the boys nightmares. I said, no, they loved it and they are fine. End of conversation on that topic. Ya, I'm such a horrible mother. I took my boys to see Shrek the Third and now they are going to need therapy. What a joke!

Today, Dave asked Kaitlyn what she wanted to do and she said a movie. LOL. Dave is working for Yarrow on call until next Thursday as Rudy is away and the weather is unpredictable and Dave wanted me to go as he had to keep a close eye on the computer and save Yarrow from potential disaster......rofl. Anyway, no problem there. Kaitlyn and I went to see Spiderman 3. I sense a '3' theme here. Anyway, I found it to be very entertaining. The 2+ hours to fly by. Lots of action! Only one bag of popcorn. I did however, during the movie noticed that Kaitlyn ran out of pop and asked if she would go and get our drinks filled as everything is free refills. She said no thanks. I was a little perturbed as I paid for the movie and the snacks and she couldn't get off her butt for a refill. What a brat! It makes me wonder why we bother to do anything with her. I did however, enjoy the movie. Not even a thanks for the movie or nothing.

I'm going to have a nice hot shower before bed. Tomorrow afternoon while Dave is taking Kaitlyn home, I plan to take the boys to Charmaines and set up their computer. Maybe she'll finally get internet! lol. Catch up with the '90's eh? LOL.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

I'm out.

Field Trip and Pro-D day....again

Well, same old thing around here. Ryan had a field trip on Wednesday Both K classes got on the bus to go to Banner's (it's a restaurant now but was formerly known as Big Scoop) for icecream and then to the Chilliwack public library for a fun story telling session and then to sign out a book. Ryan quite enjoyed it. Tomorrow, Friday is a pro-d day again, of course what a great way to start a long weekend eh? I'm thinking of taking Krista (Bridger's mom, classmate of Ryan) to Toy Trader's in Langley. Will call her in the morning to see if she is up to it. Then I really really really want to go and see Shrek 3. Who cares what the kids want, I want to see it with popcorn, the whole bit. I'm even willing to sacrifice Shane's nap. How mean is that. I just have to look up the times and figure it out. I'm just going to see how the day unfolds.

Next week is a little hectic. We have Kaitlyn this weekend, Dave is working for Yarrow as Rudy is away next week. I'm volunteering at Bingo for the school from 10pm-1am on Tuesday. Thursday is the PAC meeting at 7pm as Krista and I said we would go if they made it evening. So they did. And Friday is Ryan's Primary fun day! Dave also has to take his mom to Vancouver on that Friday regarding the tumor in her head. The week is going to fly, so hopefully you're not to disappointed in me if I don't get a chance to update. What are your plans Aysha? Do you get a holiday any time soon? I know, good funny....lol.

Take Care
Tara

Keeping Busy

I have been keeping myself busy...kids help. Anyway, I've been stamping my little heart out. I finished a 7 card (front only) swap and posted today. I made a dozen blessing/advice cards for Sue's neice Lindsay with a box, and I have made 1 out of 12 announcements. I had to get out of my head and onto the table. Check out my craft blog for the pictures. Oh, and I made my uncle a birthday card for his 60th birthday. Other than that it's been the same routine around here.

BTW: Happy Birthday Charmaine!!!!!

Pretty Lame

I'm sorry I haven't updated but nothing real exciting has happened. Just the day to day busyiness. I did attend the Stampin' Up! regional event on Friday the 27th of April. I was up the night before (or should I say morning) until 3:30am, then I had a shower and set my alarm for 5:15. I had to be out of the house by 5:45ish. Ish is right! It was more like 5:54 when I was pulling out of the driveway. The only positive thing that early is the traffic is lighter. Got to Sue's and she drove us into Vancouver. It was a great day! We had presentations, demonstrations and 5 make and takes. We did however have to kill some time from the time the seminar ended to the SCS dinner at 8pm. Can you believe that on a Friday night the Harbour Centre Mall closes at 6pm? How crazy is that? So we ended up walking to the Old Spaghetti Factory and having an appy and drink while we waited for the dinner to start. It went by rather quickly as we were in good company and good conversation. Suzanne did win a door prize. They were Martha Stewart photo clips. She shared them with me. Two for her and two for me. Thanks Sue! Other than that, same old stuff, shopping, cleaning etc. Oh on Saturday was my Mother's day workshop. A couple of ladies came over and we made a beautiful Mother's day card and a Address book. You can check out all the pictures on my craft page link. I did the Costco thing today, I took Shane and visited Lia yesterday while Ryan was in school. I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep. I'm so tired! Anyway, got to get some cleaning done, it's driving me crazy! Canucks are do or die tonight. They are down 3-1 in the series. We can do it! We have done it 3/6 times before. Not bad averages. And of course the piece de resistance is a 2 hour Grey's Anatomy. So you know what I'll be doing tonight! BTW, Aysha, I talked to Dave about you staying with us, and Yoda too! NO PROBLEM! You're in girl. You just need to know when to get what you want....LOL. Hope you're well, I did read your blog, just haven't had a chance to comment. Beautiful pictures by the way.

Ciao for now,
Tara

Ryan was helper at school on Tuesday

Well, Ryan was the helper at school on Tuesday. He was so excited! He wanted Shane and I to stay and take some pictures. The helper has many duties. He has take the attendance sheet with a buddy to the office. Ryan chose Jessica (she was sitting the closest) and they held hands to go to the office. When they came back they sang Oh Canada, read the morning message (Ryan has to point to the words). They have to go through the days of the week (Ryan points) They have to count the days in the calendar, and count how many days they have been in school.

The class is divided into 4 color groups, blue, red, green and yellow. Ryan is in the red group. Tuesday is the red groups show and tell day so double whammy, he brought show and tell too! They sing songs, they do the alphabet in sign language. It's really amazing to see all that they do in Kindergarten. More that I did that's for sure. Here are some pictures.

Short Week

Well, just a quick post as nothing too exciting in the Macfarlane household. I went to Costco with the boys and Lia on Monday. Basically too and from school. Tuesday night I went to my upline's demonstrator meeting (Colourful Impressions) with Sue. There was a quick make and take and there was some real helpful business information. It was great. Shane and I did go to Krista's for coffee on Thurday and a short play with her son Jairden who is 2 months younger than Shane. Basically every night this week, I was prepping for my first Scrap Club meeting on Saturday. There was five of us and it was a lot of fun. In two weeks I'll be hosting a Mother's Day workshop. Check out my paper crafts site for details on that. Other than that, a lazy day. I'm just going to take Shane for a nap. Here are some pictures of the boys playing hockey in the garage. First time ever for Shane holding a stick! Pretty good eh?

Happy Easter

Mainly a picture update. We had Lia over for Ham and scalloped potatoes on Sunday. The Easter Bunny came to our house leaving a trail of goodies behind him. A Basket each for the boys and eggs all over the backyard. Ryan was so excited to get to finding eggs. Shane was just happy being outside. We did get the boys a little basketball hoop which they want to play everyday. I'm glad about that. Oh and also, Saturday, Dave and I purchased a new van! 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. It's silver and we got a great deal. I Love IT! I'll upload some pictures of that next time. I haven't taken any yet. Here are the pictures of our Easter!

Spring Break Update

Wow am I a terrible blogger. I don't know where the time goes. Ryan had a week off for spring break last week. Dave took off the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Of course on Monday it was pouring rain. Can't remember what we did. Tuesday we went to the Vancouver Aquarium. We got a nice day too! Ryan had such a great time! I have lots of pictures but promise I'll only upload the good ones. On Thursday, Dave's brother Bo and his wife Jenn and the cousins, Ben and Danny came down for a visit. They stayed with Lia Thursday night and then stayed with us Friday night. We also had Kaitlyn that weekend too! Full house. We couldn't convince the Bridesville Macfarlanes to stay another day (they have this week off too-two weeks spring break) but they did however stay until late on Saturday. They left for home around 4pm after Turkey dinner. I thought it would be nice to have an early "easter' like dinner all together. At the time I was planning, I had no idea when they were leaving. Even if they couldn't stay, we would have Lia over and enjoy Turkey dinner! We all love turkey! I put the bird in at 10:50 so we were eating by 3pm. Get them all nice and stuffed up before the long drive. A triptophan induced sleepy drive....mwaa hahahah.... Other than that, I've just been making some card swaps for the Regional Stampin' Up seminar that I'm attending on the 27th of April. I've made 20 of one kind and 2 of the other as I ran out of some key ingredients like paper.....I'll have to place another order tonight! BooHoo....lol I can start working on prepping the easter baskets that I'm showing the kids how to make next week. I'm just cutting and scoring them. The kids get to decorate them and put them together in class. It'll be fun. They are also going to be coloring eggs that day. Yikes, it will be a busy 2 1/2 hours. Check out my craft blog to see the regional cards I just made and check back next week when we're done the baskets! Hopefully I blog sooner than later!
